Stigma For one to admit to have psychological problems is still, today 2018 associated with a lot of shame and feelings of guilt. Why? Because the way we label it "psychological problems". This makes people think something is serious wrong with our brain. At least we think they think that... It would be better to say" I'm feeling really bad and I think I need to go and talk someone about it." Or "I'm feeling stuck I think I need someone to help me to get unstuck". If you broke your ankle you would go to the doctor asap to get a x-ray and have a cast put on. You wouldn't even hesitate for even an hour. If you told your self: "I'll wait a month and see if things get better, if it doesn't I will go to the doctor". People would think something was serious wrong with you, that's for sure. The ankle is a physical problem. No one would judge you for going to the hospital. You know that! Do you think others would consider you weak and fragile if you admit you are having some psychological issues, especially if you are a man? So, if they think, it's their problem!
